    College Students Gather Early to View Live Coverage of the Presidential Inauguration

  • SAN JOSÉ, CA— The Spring semester hasn't officially begun, yet that's not keeping away hundreds of students from Evergreen Valley College (EVC) and San José City College (SJCC) who will witness history taking place on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, beginning at 8 am at the SJCC Student Center on campus and at EVC's Gullo II Center, located near the middle of the Evergreen Valley College campus (in between the student cafeteria and the Dr. Mauro Chavez Student Center). Faculty and staff, as well as students from several Sociology and Social Sciences classes are expected to view the live taping of the Presidential Inauguration throughout the day.

    The event is free and open to the public. Some activities, an open mic and refreshments will be available.

    Events at both colleges are sponsored by EVC's AFFIRM Program, EVC Diversity Action Council (DAC), SJCC Community Arts and Lectures Program, and the SJCC Office of Student Life.

    Evergreen Valley College is located at 3095 Yerba Buena Rd. in San José. San José City College is located at 2100 Moorpark Avenue in San José.
