    HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS MARCH TO STATE CAPITOL IN A CALL TO ACTION


  • SAN JOSÉ, CA—) Hundreds of Evergreen Valley College and San José City College students will be heading to Sacramento on Monday, March 16 to rally for education.   They will be marching onto the steps of the Capitol and meeting with legislators to encourage them to avoid fee hikes, support the California DREAM Act, and to save programs, such as EOPS and CalWORKS.

    WHY:           Rally—March—Support Higher Education

    1. Scheduled appointments with Lt. Governor John Garamendi, Senator Elaine Alquist, Assemblymembers Jim Beall, Joe Coto, Paul Fong, Ira Ruskin, Joe Simitian
    • Calling for no increases in fees
    • Pass the California DREAM ACT
    • Increase support for emancipated foster youth
    • Save categorical programs such as EOPS, DSPS, CalWORKS.
