Press Release May 21, 2007
Visual and Performing Arts Center
Construction ImpactAnnouncement
In August we will embark on a significant milestone in EVC’s history. After many years and much anticipation, construction of the Visual & Performing Arts Center will begin. The buildings will be located adjacent to Sequoia and the existing bus turn around. There will be no pedestrian access through the construction zone for the duration of construction. Pedestrian access to the campus will be as indicated in the site plan below. The project is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2009.

CAMPUS ACCESS:
Access to the staff and student parking lots 5 and 6 will be off Yerba Buena Road only. Access to the staff lot 5 will be closed. The VTA bus service, Outreach vans, deliveries and access to the disabled parking adjacent to the P. E. Building will remain.
PARKING IMPACTS:
Parts of Lots 5 and 6 will be fenced off to facilitate construction. Approximately 90 spaces will be displaced in staff lot 5 and 210 spaces will be displaced in student lot 6.
Two years ago the additional parking lot 4A adjacent to the Library/Educational Technology Center was constructed in anticipation of the loss of spaces in lots and 5 and 6. Lot 4A has approximately 154 staff and 128 student spaces.
Please bear with us as we move towards a major addition to our campus.
